CHINAPLAS 2026 International Exhibition on Plastics and Rubber Industries wrapped up on April 24 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai. Taizhou Sanding Molding Co., Ltd. was there, meeting companies and professionals from across the plastics and rubber industry and getting a firsthand look at what's happening in mold manufacturing, plastics processing, materials, and manufacturing technology.
This year's show covered 400,000 square meters with 5,104 exhibitors from 45 countries and regions on hand, attracting 350,189 visitors from 188 countries and regions over the run of the event. Over 3,800 machinery exhibits were running live on the floor, and more than 1,900 raw material suppliers brought their products and technologies along, making for a pretty wide-reaching gathering point across the plastics and rubber supply chain.
Circular economy, digitalization, new materials, and advanced technologies and manufacturing in China all got a fair amount of attention this time around. Injection molding, extrusion, blow molding, and thermoforming equipment were shown on the floor, and smart injection molding, robotics, and newer plastics and rubber materials came up often as well.
None of this is far removed from what Sanding Molding does day to day. The company has spent years in mold manufacturing and in developing and producing plastic products, with output covering battery enclosures, bathroom products, household items, pet products, and plastic parts for automobiles and motorcycles. Going to CHINAPLAS 2026 gave the team a chance to see where materials, molding processes, and manufacturing technology are heading across the industry more broadly.
The show also worked as a way to keep existing industry contacts warm and pick up on shifts happening in the market. Sanding Molding intends to keep following what's going on in mold manufacturing and plastics processing, and to carry whatever it picked up here into its ongoing product development and production work.
